From the car park at Rabbi Fonti, close to the famous spa centre, follow the clear track through the forest to the left of the main road, signed for the suspension bridge and Malga Fratte. The track climbs gently uphill for around 1 km until you come to a very clear sign on the left-hand side for the suspension bridge and Malga Fratte Bassa. Follow the path through the beautiful larch forest until you approach the gorge carved out by the Rio Ragaiolo stream, crossed by the new suspension bridge. The 100 m long bridge crosses the ravine, at a height of up to 57 m.
There is an incredible view over the Ragaiolo waterfall below. On the other side of the gorge, the clear footpath goes gently downhill until it meets an old herder’s track. Follow this track uphill, until you reach a clear gravel track which leads you directly to Malga Fratte Bassa. This Alpine pasture offers panoramic views of the Stelvio National Park.
Return by following the first section of the same track which continues downhill, crossing Ragaiolo bridge offering an alternative viewpoint of the suspension bridge which you crossed earlier. From there, return to the starting point by walking alongside the cross-country skiing piste and the lively Rabbies river.
