The Rabbies river is said by many to be the best river in the whole of Trentino.
With its tree-lined banks, crystal clear waters all year round and a flow which is not subject to sudden changes, the Rabbies is the perfect place to find huge numbers of marble trout and brown trout. Fishing is possible in the Val di Rabbi on the Rabbies river and some of its tributaries (Rio Val Lago Corvo, Rio Val Cavallaia, Rio Val Zambuga, Rio Salèc, Rio Valorz) and the Soprassasso lakes (Soprassasso, Rotondo, Quarto and Saleci lakes).
Lago Soprassasso is a glacial lake lying 2,240 m above sea level, full of Arctic char and trout.
The fishing season for river waters begins on the first Sunday in March and runs until the end of September, whilst fishing in the Soprassasso lakes is permitted from June.
REGULATIONS
You must have a fishing licence and a day permit, which can be purchased from the bar at the IP petrol station in Tassè (call 0463 985122).
Prices:
- 1 fishing day 20 € + 2€ (caution)
- 2 consecutive days 35 € + 2€ (caution)
- 1 week whit 5 fishing days 80 € + 2€ (caution)
Children till 13,99 years old pay 1/2 price.
Anyone who does not have a fishing licence can visit the “Pianeta Sport” shop in Malè or the office of the Associazione Sportiva Pescatori Solandri in Pellizzano to obtain a special tourist licence valid for 30 days, free of charge.
LE MARINOLDE RESERVE (RNK1)
Two separate sections of the Rabbies river, totalling 2.5 km in length. The first section extends from Valorz bridge (Ruaie hamlet) to Bolzani bridge (close to the Lorengo garage) whilst the second runs from Baleti bridge in Tassè to Pozze bridge in Pracorno. Access is granted to a maximum of 2 anglers per day (catch and release only, fly line, Valsesia or Tenkara techniques). Booking is compulsory, call 328 4566771 between 09:00 and 12:30. After you have made your booking and before you start fishing, you must collect your permit from the IP petrol station in Tassè. Access to this area costs €38 per day.
