Trekking to Malga Mandrie in Val di Rabbi
Starting from the small hamlet of Penasa in Val di Rabbi, this hike takes you towards Malga Mandrie, which can be reached in approximately 3 hours of walking.
This is a medium-high difficulty trail with a vertical gain of nearly 1000 meters, passing first through Malga Garbella Bassa and continuing towards Malga Mandrie. The route runs within the Stelvio National Park, and if you decide to visit in autumn, the warm colors of the larches will leave you breathless.
Directions to Follow:
Once you leave your car in the small hamlet of Penasa, located above San Bernardo, follow the signs towards Malga Garbella Bassa. After passing the malga, continue following the signs towards Malga Mandrie Alta. The entire ascent will take about 3 hours, depending on your physical preparation. At the malga, you’ll find cows that are brought here by local farmers to graze during the summer months.
