After parking your car in the Fontanon area, continue on foot along the dirt road in the direction of Passo Cercen.
The entire route follows an unpaved forest road with no direction changes or forks: walk it for about 3 kilometers along the valley until the last hairpin turn, which is only a few hundred meters from the malga.
During the journey, you'll immerse yourself in the high-altitude pasture of the malga, occasionally interrupted by a sparse larch forest. Your gaze will naturally be drawn to the peaks that rise toward the sky. Alongside you, a stream flows continuously, fed by the numerous small streams crossing your path.
The destination of this journey is a beautiful malga, located on a panoramic plateau overlooking the peaks of the stunning Val Cercen. To return to the parking lot, simply retrace the path you took.
This is a medium-easy walk in the Stelvio National Park, where you'll explore the Val Cercen.
Larches, grazing cows, and rhododendrons will be your companions during this hike, which takes place entirely on an unpaved forest road.
