One of the most wild and unspoilt ski mountaineering tours, with north exposure.
DURATION: 5.30 hours
DISTANCE: 6,85 (ascent only)
DIFFERENCE IN HEIGHT: 1.660 meters (ascent)
HIGHEST POINT: 2.536 meters
Start point: Pracorno (Scolari village) 950 meters above the sea level, at the fork with the country road that leads to Malga Saleci. Parking beside the road.
ASCENT
Take the country road from the village Scolari. Once you are on a elevation of 1100 meters, cross the bridge and move to the orographic right. Go on and pass through Mandria di Sotto (1.427 m). Stay in the middle of the narrow valley, avoid Malga Saleci Bassa and go directly to Malga Saleci Alta (2.039 m). From there go on the right side and stay in the middle of the valley in direction Passo Saleci.
Near the pass pay attention to the increasing gradient and the snow condition that coud be very dangerous due to the presence of unsafe snow piles .
Alternatively you can avoid the Passo Saleci and turn to the left on a crest pointing directly the peak Sass dell'Anel (according to the gpx trak). In both cases to reach the top you will have to be equipped vith crampons.
VARIATION (Cima Mezzana) suitable for good freeriders: Immediatly after the Malga Saleci Alta turn to the right and reach the Lago Saleci (2.322 m). Bypass the big peak in front of you and climb in west direction one of the 5 grooves with an inclination of 40 – 45 degrees and reach Cima Mezzana (2.845 m). Ice axes and crampons are required.
