Mushroom picking in the province of Trento is governed by the local laws. (www.provincia.tn.it).
In Trentino, the picking of mushrooms, whether or not they are edible, is permitted up to a limit of 2 kilos per person per day.
The maximum daily limit does not apply if a single mushroom would exceed the limit on its own. All mushroom pickers are required to clean the mushrooms in the place where they are picked and to only carry them in a rigid, perforated container. It is forbidden to damage or destroy mushrooms on the ground or to use rakes, hooks or other devices when harvesting mushrooms which can damage the soil.
The declaration is strictly personal and non-transferable.
The declaration contains the personal details of the mushroom picker, the harvesting period and the payment of the sum due for harvesting mushrooms.
The maximum quantity picked applies to a person aged 10 years or over. Under 10s may pick mushrooms, if accompanied by an adult, up to the maximum permitted limit. Mushroom picking is permitted from 07:00 to 19:00.
The concession prices are available for tourists staying in the province of Trento for at least three consecutive nights. To obtain the reduction, you must submit a self-declaration, which can be downloaded from http://ww.valdisole.net/it/Raccolta-Funghi/, or obtained from any of the Val di Sole tourist offices, along with the necessary payment.
